On September 26, 2018, an awards ceremony was held at Moscow’s China Cultural Center for the “China and I” essay contest and a children's drawing contest titled, “China Through the Eyes of Russian Children”, organized with the help of the Chinese Embassy in Russia.
For many decades, Hua Ge has worked for the cinema, creating posters for numerous films, thus becoming himself a “star”, a personification of the famous Hong Kong cinema. All the renowned Hong Kong and Chinese film studios have eagerly commissioned him for over 30 years.
On September 21, an exhibition opened in the V.A. Rosanov Library in Sergiev Posad, a city located northeast of Moscow. The exhibition is titled Bukvalno, or “Literally”, and features over 20 works created by students of Victor Novikov, a graphic artist, calligrapher, and icon painter.

During their visit to the city of Guangzhou, a delegation from the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy met with calligraphy artist Wang Zhicheng in an informal and friendly atmosphere.
A group of representatives from the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy and Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Center undertook another trip to Beijing, which lasted from September 9 to 15. This time they visited the cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Foshan.
The 5th International Biennial of Persian Calligraphy opened at the Sa’d al-Saltaneh Caravanserai in Qazvin. A total of 215 calligraphers from 25 provinces are showing their works in Qazvin known as the capital of Persian calligraphy.

While on a business trip over China, the delegation of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy and Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre visited the Beijing Academy of Calligraphy. The delegation was hosted by the Academy’s Director Guan Jun
On September 7, the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy held a grand celebration of its 10th anniversary since foundation. Over the years, the Museum has seen thousands of masterpieces displayed in its premises, created by both renowned calligraphers and talented enthusiasts, bringing fresh ideas and new perspectives to the art of calligraphy.
On August 20, 2018, the Museum delegation was warmly received in the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province, by Mr Zhao Xueli, a calligrapher from China. Although Mr Zhao met with the Museum representatives only for the second time and with Mr Alexey Shaburov, Director of the Museum, for the first time, it felt like a meeting of old friends.
During their business trip to China on August 16-25, 2018, a delegation from the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy and the Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Center visited Beijing Red Crag Culture & Media Co, a calligraphy gallery famous for its unusual collection of artwork.
Alexey Shaburov met with Ms Gong Jiajia, cultural attache at the Chinese Embassy in Russia and director of Moscow’s China Cultural Center. The meeting occured on August 28 at the main building of the Chinese Embassy in Russia and began with a brief introduction of the upcoming 2019 expo “The Great Chinese Calligraphy: One Belt - One Road”.
On August 22, during their trip to the city of Shangzhi, Heilongjiang province, representatives of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy visited one of the most unusual and remarkable museums in China — the Chinese Calligraphy on Stone Museum. Not only is it extremely famed, it is also listed as one of the specially protected cultural properties of the People’s Republic of China.
The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy is a unique cultural institution which aims to preserve and promote the traditions of the art of fine writing. The Museum has a rich collection of over 3,000 calligraphy masterpieces from the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century created by 443 artists from 65 countries.
During their business trip to China, representatives of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy met with the leadership of the Chinese Sharp-pointed Nib Association.

A year ago, I received an email from the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy in Moscow, inviting me to take part in the International Calligraphy Exhibition to be held in September 2017

On August 16-26, representatives of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy and the Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Center undertook a business trip to China, during which they met with the country’s most renowned calligraphy artists, heads of the major calligraphy associations, and representatives of both academic and research communities
On August 16, 2018 during their business trip to China, the representatives of the contemporary Museum of Calligraphy met with Mr Yuan Yingke, a calligrapher from Beijing. At the meeting, Mr Yuan presented to the Museum a gift of art, one that he created himself
Calligraphy is a kind of music not for the ears, but for the eyes.
