Master classes

Master classes by outstanding calligraphers will be held on the Sundays during the exhibition:

14:00 — 15:30 Showcase of The Gospel of Mark, a handwritten calligraphy book by Apollinaria Mishina. The work consists of a series of illustrations on 155 pages, 104 of which are miniatures made in the colour etching technique and illuminated with gold leaf. Specially for this book, the author has worked out a calligraphic font on the half-uncial basis. The book has already been highly praised by the Russian Orthodox Church.

15:30 — 16:30 Mohan Saraf: Master-class on Indian Calligraphy. Mohan Saraf, a calligrapher and a photographer will reveal the secrets of Indian writing systems to all interested.
