Bukhara Cherishes Local Calligraphy
In the context of the International Museum Day Bukhara launched a new museum with the History of the Art of Calligraphy of Bukhara exposition. Its architectural heritage spanning from the 9th to early 20th century, Bukhara rightfully bears the name of one of the oldest cities of Uzbekistan.
Calligraphic wonders at the Newberry
Presented in partnership with the Chicago Calligraphy Collective, a group that promotes "the study, practice and appreciation of calligraphy," this juried exhibition features 34 calligraphic pieces that push the art form's boundaries. Items such as a painted three-panel fabric partition, words engraved on glass and a massive installation of calligraphy across three whole animal hides make one thing quite clear: This is not your mama's fancy handwriting.
Iranian calligraphers sweep awards in Istanbul competition
Iranian calligraphers have received numerous awards at the 9th International Calligraphy Competition held in the Turkish city of Istanbul. Iranian artists participated in the Nastaliq section knocked other competitors out of the section and picked up all the awards of the category.

The calligraphy of Chinese artist Chen Peibin will be on display from May 1 to 31 in the Coletti Reading Room of the Thomas Crane Public Library, 40 Washington St., Quincy.
The Arabesques Šamail Exhibition Shakes Kazan

Malayalam online in wonderful calligraphy
