Exhibition of calligraphy to commemorate Victory Day goes live
An exhibition of calligraphy to commemorate the Great Patriotic War Victory Day opened with a ceremony on May 8 at 5.00 pm. The opening ceremony saw a performance of a children chamber choir of Vladimir Loktev’s singing and dancing ensemble, followed by an exhibition tour and a meeting with calligraphy artists.

Conquest of manuscript books held in Volgograd
On 16th of May the final stage of “My manuscript book” open municipal conquest will take place in M.Gorkiy Volgograd regional library. The following book-art works will be represented in the framework of the conquest: author’s manuscript books, in many cases of unusual shapes with hand-made figures. Their authors are the graduates of lyceums, gymnasiums, kindergartens and the educators of Volgograd.
Master class from Xiao Sueli, the best of thirty modern calligraphers of China
On 17th of May at 1 p.m. we kindly invite all the lovers of Chinese calligraphy and philosophy to the Contemporary Museum of calligraphy. This day the expert Xiao Sueli will held a master class on Chinese calligraphy and will represent the ancient Chinese treatise “Tao Te Ching” performed with special purpose for “ALONE in a BOAT reading Laozi” project.
Final lessons held at the National school of beautiful writing art
At the end of April, the final lessons were held in the framework of the children course at the National school of beautiful writing art. During the final lesson the kids have presented their final works. They proudly showed the correct writing, their tools command skills, compositional thinking and their ability to decorate the calligraphic texts.

On March 27th and 28th the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy held a pointed pen crash course to give an express introduction to the art of fine writing – attendees acquired some basic skills with pen and ink.
Arabic calligraphy workshop
On April the 10th at 7 pm the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy will hold an Arabic calligraphy workshop for beginners. Artist, mosaicist and calligrapher Naylya Lotfi will introduce Arabic culture and alphabet, and outline key styles and principles to create a script composition.
