Students of engineering school #21 have had an unforgettable and unique tour as they have visited the only art of writing museum in Russia – the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy. It is located in the eastern part of the capital in Sokolniki park.
Calligraphy, says Italian master Massimo Polello, is less about lettering and more about rhythm. "Because when you are writing, you move your body in a different way, it's a rhythmic movement."
He also believes calligraphy is the most accessible artform. For most people, there comes a point in their childhood when they lose the ability to draw - or the interest.
On Friday, 2nd of December, the "Calligraphy About Moscow" exhibition opened at the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy. Those who decided to engage into a cultural program on that Friday night were lucky not only to see the calligraphic works dedicated to Moscow, but also to discuss them with their authors: the exhibition presentation was held in the form of a dialogue between the audience and the authors.
Last Saturday, November 26, the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy held the presentation of the adult calligraphy courses of the National School of Calligraphy. Such presentations are our regular feature; the goal is to present the maximum amount of information regarding the courses programme, the skills they will develop, the complexity of works they will be able to make at the end of studying to those who plan to study calligraphy at the School.
A joint project of the Fabrika Centre For Creative Industries and Jharoaka gallery, Pakistan, will exhibit the works by contemporary Pakistani calligraphy artists in the Piranesi LAB space.

Scientists have deciphered one of the most ancient manuscripts in the Old Mongolian, deposited in the archives of the National Museum of the Altai Republic.
