Why It Is Useful To Hand-write
The Artist’s Book, a multi-number exhibition project of the International Craft Guild of Masters has been presented today in the Yugor Center of Cultural Initiatives. Petersburg artists talked to journalists and spoke about how to apprehend literature; explained why a paper book will not become extinct and why it is so necessary, and even fashionable in the capital, to hand-write and be a calligrapher.
Live Calligraphy Performance
The Russian artist calligrapher Pokras Lampas in collaboration with Nike Russia during Moscow Vogue Fashion Week made a 3-hour long live calligraphy performance for the history of Air Force 1, using different brushes and markers.
Calligraphy exhibit at The Gallery at the Casano Center in Roselle Park
“Poems That Touch the Heart," a solo exhibit of calligraphy by Roselle Park resident Ed Beissel, will run through to Feb. 13th, at The Gallery in the Casano Community Center, 314 Chestnut St. Roselle Park. There will be a reception to meet the artist on Wednesday, Jan 28th, from 5-7 p.m. The Casano Community Center and the Art Gallery hours are Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday till 5 p.m.

Manuscript Funds Available For The Public At Ufa National Library
Unique Handwritten Books From the Library Funds exhibition was officially opened at Ahmed Zaki Validi National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan. According to Aigul Yaparova, Press-secretary of the library, the first part of the exhibition is compiled of handwritten notebooks written in the 19th century by Gali Sokroi, a famous Bashkir religious figure, poet and educator. Eight notebooks of the educator reflect his activities in different genres: epistolary, poetry, prose and journalism.
