An exhibition of Buryat-Mongolian calligraphy called “Tengeriin besheg” (A letter of Heaven) will open at Sampilov Republican Art Museum on February 24th. This is a unique opportunity to attend master classes and order any inscriptions from famous calligraphers of Greater Mongolia.
A master-class on Japanese calligraphy was held on the premises of Sakhalin Regional Universal Scientific Library in collaboration with the Consulate General of Japan in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on September 12th.

Unique Handwritten Books From the Library Funds exhibition was officially opened at Ahmed Zaki Validi National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan. According to Aigul Yaparova, Press-secretary of the library, the first part of the exhibition is compiled of handwritten notebooks written in the 19th century by Gali Sokroi, a famous Bashkir religious figure, poet and educator. Eight notebooks of the educator reflect his activities in different genres: epistolary, poetry, prose and journalism.
A collection of scrolls containing four parts of the five-part calligraphy work Notes on White Pagoda Mountain was auctioned at the record price of 101 million yuan ($16.4 million) Tuesday night at the Poly International Auction in Beijing, as reported by the Global Times.
