New project by Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy
The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy is commissioning an update for the project of the Constitution of the Russian Federation as amended in 2014. The text is written by Yuri Koverdyaev, graphic artist and a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. As of today, 44 pages are complete ending with the Article No. 78, which is equal to 39 957 characters or 5619 words.

Workshop for children at WANEXPO Festival
Between November 9 and 12, 2017, Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre held a festival for pregnant women and babies titled WANEXPO. Today the educational forum for teachers and educators, which is now underway in Expocentre at Krasnaya Presnya, has seen Arina Lauri, a professional calligrapher and teacher, holding a Copperplate calligraphy workshop. Supplementary education teachers have touched upon the writing history of Russia in the 19th century, discovered the methods to teach historical writing and mastered some pointed pen skills.

New courses launched in National School of Calligraphy
The last weekend the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy in Sokolniki has launched a new season of adult courses. On top of traditional and popular curriculum, including Basic and Pointed Pen Calligraphy, Spencerian has been introduced to offer a particularly sophisticated and airy decorative writing training. Guided by professional calligrapher Daria Shelomkova, students learn the tools and materials employed by the script.
