Dear calligraphy lovers,
We are glad to inform you that two more Italian artists have joined our society: Simonetta Ferrante and Massimo Polello.
Simonetta Ferrante is a living testimony to a popular belief that a person of talent is talented in all respects. She is good at music and visual arts. Participant of numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, she puts a special emphasis on teaching. Simonetta Ferrante has developed her method based on the rediscovery of the creativity in everyone and founded the Centro dell’Immagine e dell’Espressione (Centre of Image and Expression). Recently Simonetta Ferrante has returned to the themes that fascinate her: form, sign, colour vis-à-vis music and calligraphy.
Massimo Polello has his own style and vision of calligraphic art. He is the President of Dal Segno alla Scrittura, the Turin guild of calligraphers, and participates in a plethora of exhibitions in Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Japan, and Pakistan; he teaches at the International Centre for Calligraphy Arts in Rome (CIAC); he gives seminars and master classes in different countries. Massimo Polello is the prizewinner of international exhibitions and contests.
Calligraphy is the art of deliberate hieroglyphic corruption and transformation in order to reach natural harmony.
