The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy opened!

Last weekend the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy was officially opened after summer holidays. In honor of the event the museum management organized some workshops on European calligraphy conducted by the National Union of Calligraphers and the International Exhibition of Calligraphy project participants.

On Saturday, Nina Kozubova, calligrapher and teacher, gave a talk oncalligraphy for children. The workshop was interactive. Nina managed to work individually with each participant. That caused great excitement among the youngest visitors to the museum and their parents.

On Sunday, Yevgeny Drobyazin and Artyom Lebedev appeared before the audience. Most of the time Mr. Drobyazin devoted to theory and then gave a lecture. He noted that beautiful handwriting in itself is not calligraphy yet. On the contrary, Artyom Lebedev immediately began with practice, demonstrating mastery in design of greeting cards to the audience. Traditionally, all the journalists pay greater attention to Yuri Koverdyayev, curator of the National School of Calligraphy, who managed to give some exclusive interviews for four TV-Channels.

During the weekend visitors to the museum actively enrolled into the school. Some groups had already been formed, others started the first session. There are very few free places. Catch the Spirit!
