The exposition of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy scheduled for this September in St.-Petersburg includes not only works of the world-known masters but also the writing utensils with which calligraphers put their fine letters on paper.
A separate section of the collection will feature samples of applied calligraphy, e.g. engravings by Viktor Saliev, a master from Rostov, embroidery, calligraphic works on ceramics, metal and glass made by the students of the Stieglitz Art and Industry Academy in Saint Petersburg.
Soon enough the guests of the Exhibition will be able to see hammered metal letters, writings on glass plates and humpens, calligraphy on ceramics.
When there are no words left, the meaning is still preserved.
