September 1 is the birthday of Mr. Yuan Pu, a wonderful person, a talented calligrapher and a very good friend of the World Calligraphy Museum.
On behalf of the director Alexei Shaburov and the entire staff of the World Calligraphy Museum, we congratulate Mr. Yuan on his birthday, we also wish him to successfully continue his creative path, we wish him well-being, good health in everything and always please us with wonderful works of art.
Mr. Yuan is a professor at the Beijing Printing Institute, a member of the All-China Calligraphers Association, and a permanent member of the Russian Union of Calligraphers.
Mr. Yuan Pu is a specialist in the creation of hieroglyphic fonts, and has devoted his entire life to research in this area. The designed by the master the Sinshu font is part of the FounderType font library. At the invitation of the All-China Association of Calligraphers, he took part in the creation of the highest state award in the field of calligraphy - the Lanting Prize (Orchid Gazebo). In 2004, Yuan Pu's calligraphy work "The Eagle Soars in the Sky" was presented as a gift to US President George W. Bush. In 2008, at the invitation of the Russian Union of Calligraphers, he took part in the First International Exhibition of Calligraphy. Three of the author's works were presented in a temporary exhibition at the Louvre Museum in Paris. Yuan Pu's works are executed in a classical manner, the main theme of creativity is the development and strengthening of traditional Chinese culture.
The calligrapher also took part in the Great Chinese Calligraphy and Painting exhibition, which was held in Moscow from September 20th to 22nd, 2019. Everyone will soon have the opportunity to enjoy the master's works, because the master's works will form the exposition of the Museum of Traditional Chinese Calligraphy and Painting, which is scheduled to open in the near future.
