Last Saturday, February 18th, saw the final class of the Pointed Pen course at the National School of Calligraphy. Six weeks of classes are now behind, with getting used to the instrument, first uneven lines, studying the Copperplate alphabet and finally, mastering the flourishes. Thanks to their diligent work in class and at home, and instructions and tips from the teacher the students managed to create beautiful flourished monograms characteristic of Copperplate. Captivated by the beauty and complexity of this script, some of the students decided to go further on studying it, while others decided to try their hand at Blackletter, applying for the Medieval Manuscript course.
Our congratulations to all the graduates on finishing another stage in mastering the art of calligraphy and best wishes on this way!
And of course, we welcome everyone wishing to try their hand at the art of fine writing at our courses: Basic; Pointed Pen, Medieval Manuscript. Blackletter. Filigree Initial; and Lettering. Classes start on March 2nd.
