The Center for Continuing Art Education of Faculty of Arts and Design of Altai State University opens a new educational course in artistic and aesthetic development. Residents of the regional center now have a rare opportunity to learn the basics of Classical Calligraphy. The beginner course "Classical Pointed Pen Calligraphy. Copperplate" is organized and inspired by a calligraphy master Olga Alexeenko.
"The course includes 7 instructor-led practical sessions on Saturdays, 2.5 hours long and everyday 1 hour long self-training sessions at home for six weeks. For the course project students are going to create handwritten wedding invitation set," Olga Alexeenko explained.
The calligrapher reassures, that successful completion of the course will provide students with the skills of beautiful cursive lettering, enabling them to create calligraphy posters, prints on clothes, postcards, as well as to design calligraphy texts, lettering murals, logos, wedding invitations and much more. "It doesn't matter if you handwriting is great or awful, your age and gender don't matter too, none of this has any effect on your calligraphy. Everyone can find their niche in here, so we welcome everyone," the creator of the course emphasizes.
Calligraphy is the art of deliberate hieroglyphic corruption and transformation in order to reach natural harmony.
