Veliky Novgorod has hosted a series of meetings between Sokolniki MEC, the project team and the members of the organizing committee of the III International Exhibition of Calligraphy. The Committee for Tourism, Culture and Archives of the Novgorod Region saw a meeting chaired by Alexey Shaburov, the Project Director, which led to the approval of the exhibition format. The highlight of the year 2010 for the city of Veliky Novgorod will start on Friday, September 10. The city will be crowded with many globally recognized calligraphers and painters who will hold a diversity of master-classes and calligraphic shows. The idea to organize the Museum Night gained all vote. Thus far, on Saturday night, apart from the major exposition of the III International Exhibition of Calligraphy, a number of museums within the Novgorod Kremlin and the Novgorod Land Artistic Culture Museum will open their doors.
The meeting between Sokolniki MEC and A.F. Gabitov, the First Vice Governor of the Novgorod Region, brought agreements on the dynamic cooperation between such towns of the region as Borovichi, Staraya Russa, Okulovka, etc. as well as with the city of Saint-Petersburg — all to attract more tourists and guests to the event.
Yuri Bobryshev, Mayor of Veliky Novgorod, confirmed the readiness of the city to host the fair and organize food stations. What is more, numerous issues regarding PR activity and marketing efforts were settled together with transportation challenges (the public transport will run daily until 3 a.m. during the exhibition days) and organization of concerts and shows on the very first day of the event. V.Yu. Pilchin, Engineering Director to the Project held negotiations with the EMERCOM representatives (the Emergency Control Ministry) to secure increased safety of all visitors of the III International Exhibition of Calligraphy, while Ye.V. Isayeva, the Project Curator, met with the Eparchy representatives to find out their opinion on the calligraphic contest to be held as part of the exhibition. The students of the Novgorod State University named after Yaroslav the Wise were offered to visit the first presentation lecture within the scope of preparation activities, entitled “Promotion of an International Project: Media, PR, and Design” hosted by D.S. Tsukanov, PR Director of Sokolniki MEC.
A.K. Kvasnikov, Deputy Director of the Project, successfully settled the issues of accommodation and meals for the organizing and technical teams of Sokolniki MEC in the city of Veliky Novgorod.
