During the briefing held in Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library Sergei Kaikin, executive director of the Russian Book Union subsidiary in Saint Petersburg reported that for the first time ever the International Book Salon in Saint Petersburg, which will run from May 23rd-26th, will feature Petersburg: The Open Book Festival in the streets of the city besides the exhibition.
Listing the most interesting events he also mentioned master classes in bookbinding, making of book heroes’ costumes, seminars in calligraphy, and also meetings with famous writers.
The organizers say the book salon will be attended by some famous Russian and foreign authors, including Vladimir Pozner, Mikhail Weller, Lev Lurie and others.
The organizing committee expects the book salon and the framework events to be visited by 150-200 thousand of citizens and guests of the city.
The entrance to the events of the book salon will be free of charge.
