Unusual calligraphy by Massimo Polello

There are a lot of outstanding artists from all over the world among the participants in the International Exhibition of Calligraphy. One of them is Massimo Polello, President of Turin calligraphers’ guild, who first came to Sokolniki in 2009 for the opening of the 1st International Exhibition of Calligraphy.

A while ago the calligraphic society got wind of the news that the Italian artist together with another calligrapher, Birgit Nass, had founded their own cabinet of curiosities, not unlike the ones built in the 16th century. The collection features a number of miniature calligraphic canvases. The whole gallery is occupied by about one hundred tiny masterpieces. You can learn more about it from the video.

We would like to remind you that the IV International Exhibition of Calligraphy is open to the public until December 15th, 2012 inclusively. We will be glad to see you at the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy!
