Triumph of Russian Calligraphy – 2018 exhibition held in Yaroslavl

January 14, 2018, has seen the Triumph of Russian Calligraphy – 2018 exhibition opened in Yaroslavl. Two halls in a historical mansion in the city centre have put on display works by Yuri Arutsev, head of his own original calligraphy school, and his students.

It is by now a good tradition for team members of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy to attend the opening ceremony of the Yaroslavl school’s retrospective, and it is no surprise there is a good friendship between the two entities: Yuri Arutsev’s activities to promote Russian calligraphy, educate calligraphy trainers and enthusiasts well deserve respect and attention from the public. The school team runs many exciting projects, which Yuri talked about prior to opening the exhibition, including educational potential of a family, impact of calligraphy on physical and psychological development in children, forming a sense of responsibility and much more. The speech, which found a broad response, was followed by a tour and Yuri’s touching words about each of his students, sparking the interest in both exhibitors and guests. The official part ended with a concert.

The Triumph of Russian Calligraphy – 2018 exhibition has succeeded.
