The Window to the Sky exhibition is to be opened in the National museum of Republic Bashkortostan on January 13th, where twenty five artworks executed by Ali Ganji for Al Ikhlas Mosque during his visit to Ufa will be showcased.
Ali Ganji and Maryam Emomi are the honoured masters of the Association of Iranian Calligraphers and the Iranian Academy of Calligraphy. Ali Ganji is a professor of the calligraphy art of the highest qualification, awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Iran.
At the beginning of January Ali Ganji and Maryam Emomi were invited by Mukhamet Hazrat, the imam-khatib of Al Ikhlas Mosque to hold master-classes in Arabic calligraphy for everyone willing to learn it. Students of Sholokhov Moscow State University for Humanities in Ufa also attended these master classes. As Ekaterina Savelieva, Head of Design, Arts and Technology Department explained, their participation in the master classes given by those calligraphers alongside trainings in numerous techniques and technologies of artwork making, including work on font design has become their internship before a presentation of graduation works and creation of their own works of authorship in the field of graphic design.
According to her, an artist resorting to the Qur'an and Iran poetry, using the language of calligraphy and painting, exposes his soul to the viewers and fills it with the energy of creation, beauty, humility in the face of Divine Providence and provides a viewer with a unique opportunity to look into himself, to think over his mission in this world.
