Vladimir Tolstoy, President of ICOM Russia, Director of the “Yasnaya Polyana” memorial estate and great-grand grandson of Leo Tolstoy has confirmed his determination to join the III International Exhibition of Calligraphy Organizers’ Committee
Official letter justifying Mr. Tolstoy’s consent was signed soon after the official opening ceremony of the Balkan glory exhibit, held at the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia. Among the high-ranking quests there were A. Avdeyev, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, A. Busygin, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Co-Chairman of the III International Exhibition of Calligraphy Organizers’ Committee, M. Shvydkoi, the Special Deputy of the RF President for International Cultural Cooperation, G. Ivliev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Cultural Affairs, and Plamen Ivanov Grozdanov, the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Bulgaria in Russia, and other notables.
Thus, we state that the Organizers’ Committee of the III International Exhibition of Calligraphy to be held on September 10-12, 2010 in Veliky Novgorod is completely formed.
Calligraphy is the art of deliberate hieroglyphic corruption and transformation in order to reach natural harmony.
