The Pen And Ink Dance

A very rare master-class in calligraphy and art décor, of the texts from the Holy Book Of Muslims, was held in an ethnographic museum at the opening day of the exhibition, «Precious Heritage: The Qur'an In The Mirror Of Iranian Art. The contemporary calligraphy artists from Iran demonstrated the art décor of the Holy Book.

The exhibition featured a collection of Qur'ans translated into many different languages, as well as quotes from the Holy Book made on some decorative panels and authentic wooden products. Over a hundred items were presented at the event. The Qur'an is the Holy Book Of Muslims comprised of the statements from the most important Islamic dogmas, Muslim traditions, and laws. A special place in the suras’ decoration is taken by the art of beautiful writing, i.e. calligraphy and textual art décor. According to the Eastern philosophy, calligraphy is not only the letters’ design and the pages’ elegant decoration, but true art capable of guiding you in searching and discovering the beauty of a spirit.

«Culture unites us, » said Askar Saberi, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazakhstan. «This is the common language all people know and it does not need any translations. We tried to present here a huge part of Iranian culture. The relationship between our countries is very good now and it keeps on developing. Ust Kamenogorsk seemed a very welcoming city and we would like to invite you to visit our city as well...»
