Between September 20 and 22, 2019, Sokolniki Museum and Educational Centre will hold an exhibition named “The Great Chinese Calligraphy and Painting,” supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The event is designed to demonstrate profound and charming Chinese calligraphy, and unlock unique Chinese writing, which has evolved from the means of writing into a form of art.
Some of the exhibits will be displayed for the first time ever.
Organizers: the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, the National Union of Calligraphers of Russia, Sokolniki Museum and Educational Centre.
Exhibitors: leading contemporary calligraphers and artists representing all calligraphy styles, from classic to avant-garde.
Calligraphy and tea ceremony workshops, as well as an educational programme introducing Chinese culture, will be available for all visitors.
Calligraphy is a remedy and mental gymnastics.
