The dates for the 6th International Exhibition of Calligraphy have been set

The exhibition will be held in Moscow’s Sokolniki Park from September 1st to the 10th in 2017.

The International Exhibition of Calligraphy is a major exhibition project dedicated to the art of calligraphy. The history of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy dates back to the year 2008. Since then, over 200 outstanding calligraphers from more than 60 countries around the globe have participated in our project.

Among the most famous exhibits are the Handwritten Constitution of the Russian Federation and the Tzar Mezuzah (the only calligraphy work listed in the Guinnes Book of World Records ).

The International Exhibition of Calligraphy allows attendees to see the unique artwork of outstanding contemporary calligraphers and to understand, through their art, the specific features of different nations and cultures.

The traditional title of our project is “Mysteries of the World Calligraphy”.

The main theme for the 6th International Exhibition of Calligraphy has been titled: “For Life”.

Life is a very comprehensive ambiguous notion, making it hard to describe in one word. Life can be defined in different ways. One might compare life to a school where everyone gets the priceless experience of existence and interaction with other people through realization of one’s abilities and purifying one’s soul. Life might also be called an experiment that allows one to try everything, as many occupations as one can, not to be afraid of changes, to start from scratch, and to be proactive rather than a passive bystander. It’s nice to compare life to a trip. This attitude allows us to make new discoveries and enjoy this exciting journey. For some, life is a theatre, where anything is possible: victories and defeats, gains and losses.

All in all, life is God’s gift. The striking and unique world of calligraphy speaks of the eternal, as it captures the essence of the life experience of the numerous generations of humanity.

Within the theme “For Life” we offer to cover such genres as: “Master”, “The First Word”, “Calligraphy: The Sounds of the Fleeting Epoch”, “The Nascence of the Elemental”, and “Littera: An Illustration of Feelings”.

We invite both our constant and new participants to take part in the exhibition. Every calligraphy master has his unique artistic manner. We ask you to express your vision of the theme of our exhibition in your unique calligraphy style.

We are looking forward to receiving your applications for participation in the 6th International Exhibition of Calligraphy!
