The International Exhibition of Calligraphy, which takes place in Moscow on the Festival Square of Sokolniki Park from September 1 to 10, has joined the international art project Before I Die. At the entrance to the exhibition of calligraphy there are slate boards on which anyone can finish the phrase "Before I die I want to…," thereby expressing their ambitions in life. Every day visitors of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy leave hundreds of inscriptions on the boards.
The project "Before I die" was created by the artist Candy Chang in 2009 after the death of a loved one. She turned a house wall into a black board on which she wrote the phrase "Before I die I want…" so that anyone willing could finish the phrase. The goal of the project is to remind people of really important things.
When there are no words left, the meaning is still preserved.
