The art of calligraphy almost forgotten in digital era

Fine and neat handwriting has always been rated high alongside speech craft. Calligraphy is an invaluable cultural layer of our civilisation, synthesizing all confessions, centuries-old traditions and languages. As time progresses, digitalisation may lead to the national cultural code being lost – one can already observe such a tendency today. Therefore it's important to remember that any casual word can be immensely beautiful, reflecting the inner world of every one of us.

Alexey Shaburov, Director of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, spoke to YAMAL-REGION State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company about the call to preserve calligraphy monuments. According to him, hand-made masterpieces will become an illustrated study guide for future generations.
