Slavic writing and graphology

This weekend the Contemporary museum of calligraphy was once again bustling with people. Whole families came to see the masterpieces by best calligraphers of the world, as well as to take part in another series of workshops. The exhibition organizers offered the audience two master classes by the experts in written scripts and handwriting.

Yuri Koverdyayev, one of the most renowned Russian participants in the project, held his penultimate workshop within the 2012 exhibition. For an hour the visitors could marvel at the beautiful half-uncial Cyrillic book hand techniques, and tried their own hand at it under the master’s guidance.

Then the audience took part in an interactive workshop and lecture, dedicated to mysteries of handwriting, by Larisa Drygval, one of the most sought-after Russian graphologists. The expert analyzed several signatures of famous people, identifying their traits of character and personality types. At the end of the master class Larisa talked to the guests, revealing the secrets of their own signatures to many of them.

Next Sunday the Contemporary museum of calligraphy will hold the final series of workshops. On December 9th we will see Yuri Koverdyayev again, as well as calligraphers Andrei Sannikov and Dmitry Petrovsky.
