School No.1392 selected Calligraphy King and Queen

D.Ryabinkin Primary School No.1392 held a calligraphy contest "Calligraphy King and Queen". The victors got certificates and crowns, of course.

Calligraphy is really good for children as it helps them acquire fine motor skills.

It helps to develop attentiveness, diligence and neatness, improve emotional intellect. Calligraphy lessons can also prevent dysgraphia, a learning disability that's becoming more and more common among school children.

"Each age group got its own text," explains Irina Pshenichnaya, primary school teacher, "the children had to copy it neatly and correctly, following the Russian grammar rules".

The contest was held in conjunction with Science Week. The main objective was to help children improve handwriting, make it beautiful and neat.
