The Great Chinese Calligraphy and Painting exhibition has been presented in Moscow. The exhibition will open next September in Sokolniki Park. The best Chinese artists will send about 400 artworks to the Russian capital.
The scale of the event is unparalleled in Russia or anywhere in the world.
2019 will see Russia and China cooperating as close as never before. Our countries will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relationships.
Li Hui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to the Russian Federation:
At present, China and Russia are enjoying the best period in their relationship. Deepening of our cooperation in the cultural field plays a very important and unique part in this process.
A small part of the calligraphic artworks have already been delivered to Moscow. These are the 20th century New Year cards, which Chinese people used to give to their Russian comrades. This collection of greeting papers has long been considered lost.
Alexey Shaburov, Director of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy:
This exhibition is really a special one. It will help uncover the secret of Chinese calligraphy for those who rarely encounter calligraphy and basically only know the name. If peoples can find common points in the cultural aspect, then it is clear they will find common points at the political level as well.
The Chinese partners also prepared a New Year greeting for the media representatives. The Izvestiya channel now has its own personal greeting card.
Calligraphy is the flower of a man′ s soul.
