It will be the first time that an exhibition of calligraphy and ebru, or marbled paper, from masters of contemporary art from Konya and Istanbul (Turkey) will be held in Latvia.
The exhibition offers an opportunity for everyone interested to get to know the rare form of calligraphy art called Husni Hatt (the beauty of writing), considered in Turkey the supreme form of art.
The seeming smoothness and simplicity of lines in Husni Hatt in fact means endless patience and many years of practice, with the calligraphers honing the precision of their hand movement to pinpoint accuracy.
Authors of the 28 exhibited works are expected to be present at the opening ceremony. Two workshops on calligraphy and ebru will be held within the exhibition framework.
