Residents of Orenburg to discover calligraphy

A calligraphy workshop will be held in the governor’s museum on January 12, where members of the White Company live history club and museum team will teach calligraphy to the residents of Orenburg.

The hosts will share the history and styles of medieval writing, while each participant will get a chance to practice the medieval scripts with not even pens or pencils but quills.

The workshop is run under existing When the Steel of Swords Dinged exhibition. Among the other planned workshops are household items making, presentation of medieval cuisine and tastings, English literature and board games nights, and demonstration of leather shoes making.

As a reminder, the calligraphy workshop is scheduled for January 12 at 17:00, no entrance fee for museum visitors.
