An exhibition of Goryeo era (918-1392) celadon artworks opened in the embassy of the Republic of Korea on December 6, 2019. Found on a sunken ship in the Yellow sea near the shore of Taean, Hongseong, all exhibits currently belong to the Taean National Sea Museum of the National Research Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage of Korea.
Designed to introduce the authentic and original Korean culture to the guests of the diplomatic mission, the exhibition opening was facilitated by the Korean Administration of Cultural Heritage, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Deputy Director of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy Olga Shaburova met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Russia Lee Sok-Bae at the event, and also spoke to the Director of the Embassy Cultural Centre, Ms. Wei Myung Jae. The parties expressed willingness to cooperate and hold the events celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between the Republic of Korea and Russia.
Calligraphy is a kind of music not for the ears, but for the eyes.
