Isao Tanaka, a famous calligrapher from Tokyo held a master class on Japanese calligraphy for students of the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Kuban State University on December 1st.

Master Isao knows plenty of calligraphy styles: from ancient Chinese to modern-printed. He has been actively teaching since 1982. Now he gives master classes, seminars and open classes on calligraphy in Japan and other countries. Several years ago, Isao Tanaka opened his own Japanese language school for foreign students.

The two-hour event provided participants an opportunity to attend a fascinating lecture on Japanese writing styles, watch master Isao doing his job and try their hands at the art of calligraphy.

A live chat with a Japanese professor brought a special joy to the audience: Isao Tanaka managed to affect everyone attending the master class with his overflowing energy and inexhaustible positive vibes. He made a lot of jokes, sang national songs and even danced.

After the master class everyone could get a card with his name written in Japanese by Isao Tanaka himself.
