Presentation of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy in the Novgorod State University

On December 24, 2009 the task force of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy made a presentation of the project in the conference hall of the Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University. The event was attended by officials, journalists and students.

The presentation visitors:

• Anatoly Gavrikov, President of the Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University
• Mikhail Ranenko, Vice-President of the Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University
• Tatyana Kazarmshchikova, Deputy Director of the Novgorod United State Museum-Reserve
• Mikhael Urin, rabbi of Veliky Novgorod
• Olga Soboleva, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Culture, Tourism and Archives of the Novgorod Region
• Isaac Freudman, Chairman of the Committee on Tourism and External Relations of Veliky Novgorod
• Vladimir Timofeyev, Director of the Polytechnic Institute under the Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University

The project team demonstrated some of the unique exhibits among which there were the handwritten copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the World Famous Mezuzah, the Decalogue, Calligraphy on a Fly’s Wing. Besides, some From Earth to Universe photo project works were showcased.

Pyotr Chobitko, President of the National Union of Calligraphers gave an exclusive master class for the students.

Upon the presentation completion a lot of students enrolled into the project organizing group and expressed readiness to assist in preparation and organization of the III International Exhibition of Calligraphy.
