Outstanding Middle Eastern calligrapher to hold a workshop in Sokolniki

This Sunday the International Exhibition of Calligraphy, which takes place at the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy from November 1 to December 15, 2012, is to feature an exclusive workshop by one of the best Iranian experts in writing.

Babak Rashvand Hamamlo — calligrapher, artist, illustrator, and teacher — flew today from Tehran to Moscow. The Iranian artist has been practicing calligraphy for over 20 years. His masterpieces are displayed all over the world at the largest exhibitions and festivals. Babak Rashvand has a master’s degree in visual communications. His workshop at the Museum will be dedicated to Persian calligraphy. The interactive presentation will be attended by representatives of the embassy of Iran in the Russian Federation. The workshop is to take place on November 25 from 12.00 noon to 3.00 a.m.

Another event that day will be a lecture by Yegor Lobusov, a famous Russian calligrapher, who is a standing participant in the International Exhibition of Calligraphy. The master will tell the audience how traditional Chinese calligraphy helps to improve one’s health.
