This year Russia will celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over the Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War. The purpose of Our Victory project launched by Sokolniki MEC is to support and assist the veterans and express our gratitude for their bravery and courage. The project’s motto is, “Nobody is forgotten, and nothing is forgotten.”

Our Veterans project seeks to secure stronger ties between generations. Ilya Bogdesko, People’s Artist of Russia, a famous calligrapher, and the Great Patriotic War veteran, has recently joined the project. Maestro Bogdesko is the founder a calligraphic school in St Petersburg, the city that is to welcome the International Exhibition of Calligraphy in September. His works inspired by personal experience and emotions have long become the classic masterpieces of the genre. Sixty years of the artist’s creative activity include painting, monumental art, and calligraphy.
