Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (IAMM) in Kuala Lumpur launched the «Nun Wa al Qalam: Contemporary Muslim Calligraphy» exhibition on December 9th, 2013. The exhibition was officiated by The Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife, Rosmah Mansor.
It will be held till May 10th, 2014, displaying over 100 artworks of 36 artists from Japan, China, Malaysia, Iran, Egypt, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia and Syria. The works include ink on paper, oil on canvas, and acrylic on fiberglass.
The exhibition has attracted a large number of visitors since it's opening, including Sheikh Khalid Al-Ghamdi, the imam of Masjid Al-Haram, accompanied by Tan Sri Dato' Sheikh HJ. Ismail Muhammad, the imam of the National Mosque of Malaysia. It has also been visited by Mr. Mohammad Waheed Hassan, former president of the Maldives.
