New Year’s calligraphy for children

On December 29, 2010 the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy and the International Council of Museums (ICOM-Russia), organized a special New Year event for children, including those from large families. At the Sokolniki Museum-Educational Complex guests were welcomed by Yuri Koverdyayev, representative of the National School of Calligraphy, as well as by Afanasy Gnedovsky, an ICOM international relations specialist. Yuri Koverdyayev ran an unusual tour around the museum, which the children were very impressed by. All comers were listening attentively and looked enthusiastically at calligraphic paintings through a special magnifying glass. The children especially enjoyed the exhibit "Calligraphy on a wing of a fly”. After the tour the young guests took part in the New Year master class and received gifts from the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy.
