On Saturday while visiting three Moscow parks, Sergei Sobyanin, the Mayor of Moscow, visited Sokolniki ECC, housing the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, the Museum of the World History of Package and the Museum of Ice are working. While the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy was called by the journalists the face of the Complex, the Museum of Ice was only opened on Saturday. Sergei Sobyanin was pleasantly impressed with the visit of the latter. The Mayor also took a stroll along the historical Pavilion #2. Back in 1959 the first event of international importance was held here – American National Exhibition with its legendary Kitchen Debate between N. Khrushchev and R. Nixon. After the Mayor’s stroll a tour around the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy was offered for the TV channels representatives. At the museum a lesson of the National School of Calligraphy under the guidance of Yuri Koverdyayev was in progress.
