An exhibition by Katya Zarkh, St. Petersburg’s calligrapher and participant of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy and by Sergei Simkin, an artist, (painting, abstract expressionism) took place in St. Petersburg Information and Cultural Center for Art and Music of V. Mayakovsky Library on November 3-19.
Paintings are mirrors; they are accurate because art captures momentary feelings, surpassing the lagging thought and then putting all the emotions, thoughts, and time together. Two artists with different styles and forms of art: graphic quality of painting and calligraphy, expression of color by Sergei Simkin, and black and white contrast by Katya Zarkh; canvas and paper... Different handwriting, but identical passion for Art.
Exposition — various masterpieces and epochs weave a single image through space and time. The mirror shows abstraction, the slope angle changes in the reflection — an absolute reality.
Katya Zarkh is an expert on calligraphy, drawing, photography, and graphic design. In addition to the International Exhibition of Calligraphy, she is involved in numerous Russian and international exhibitions held in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Novgorod, Wurzburg, Poznan, Patras.
