MGIMO Alumni Association thanked Aleksei Shaburov

Yesterday the grand ceremony dedicated to the first Art exhibition of creative works of MGIMO took place in the MGIMO new academic building. The exhibition agenda brought together paintings, sculpture, and photography. In total, the exposition included some 200 works created by MGIMO students and alumni. All the visitors were able to purchase artifacts exposed during the «silent auction.» Part of the proceeds to be directed to charity.

Lyudmila Kulanina, Adviser of Aleksei Shaburov, Director of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, by the way, a MGIMO grad and a member of its Alumni Association, acted on his behalf. During the opening speech, Mrs. Kulanina said that without any hesitation, the Museum Director supported the idea to organize the exhibition because the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy is a co-organizer of the world’s largest exhibition dedicated to the art of beautiful handwriting — the International Exhibition of Calligraphy.

Lyudmila Kulanina was handed a letter of thanks to Aleksei Shaburov, President of Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre, from the MGIMO Directorate. After the official part the guests looked around the exposition and had some fascinating conversations about the importance of contemporary art.
