Meeting of the Task Force of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy: Results and Prospects

On Thursday, August 14th, the meeting of the task force of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy was held within the walls of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy. By the way, the idea of this unique museum of beautiful handwriting located in Sokolniki Park in Moscow was born in the context of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy.

The exhibition is to open in less than a month: it will take place at the Repin State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture of St. Petersburg on September 16-21, 2008. At present, the preparations for the International Exhibition of Calligraphy are at full drive.

At the meeting, they touched upon the intermediate results of the task force’s efforts, evaluated the immense volume of work, which had already done and discussed the plans for the future. At the meeting, the project initiator Alexey Shaburov said that the International Exhibition of Calligraphy had won governmental support, which is proved by an ETAT from Andrei Busygin, acting Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.

At the end of the meeting, Alexey Shaburov thanked the team of professionals who made the International Exhibition of Calligraphy a significant project.
