Masters create calligraphy in Pingtan

The Pingtan branch of Fujian Haixia Painting and Calligraphy Academy was launched on June 18, the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the academy.

More than 30 famous painters and calligraphers, including four from Taiwan, attended a ceremony and created artwork at the site.

The academy will promote the cross-Straits exchange of calligraphy and painting between masters, and cultivate a better cultural atmosphere for Taiwan compatriots living in Pingtan, said Xie Xiutong, a senior official with the Pingtan administrative committee.
