The exhibition of works made by the winners and finalists participated in the Jameel Prize International competition in the field of design and arts is still running at the New Manege Moscow State Exhibition Hall.
It is a unique cultural event for the Russian capital, in regard to the unique works of contemporary Islamic art which have been brought here for the first time.
The exhibition features over 20 works by ten artists and designers from around the world: Azerbaijan, India, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and France.
Such artists as Dice Kayek, Faig Ahmed, Nada Debs, Rahul Jain, Pascal Zoghbi, Nasser Al Salem, Flory Salno, Loran Marechal, Mounir Fatmi and Waqas Khan will present their works at the exhibition which runs until November 23rd.
Visitors of the exhibition will see unique Arabic calligraphy and typography, mosaic floor tiles made of spices, dresses with the design inspired by the architecture and ornamentation of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, as well as video and miniatures. All these works are unique; created with different techniques by famous contemporary authors.
The event is organized by the Government of Moscow, the Moscow Department of Culture, The Manege Moscow Museum and Exhibition Association, Victoria and Albert Museum, Art Jameel.
