Welcome to a master class

Apollinaria Mishina is a calligrapher and a graphic artist. In 2010 she graduated with honours from the Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts (Saint-Petersburg), Department of Easel Graphics, department chair – O. Yakhnin, Honoured Artist of Russia.
“I do printed graphics (etching and coloured lithography mostly), authoring fonts, book illustrations. I am particularly interested in working on author's and artist’s books, when it takes to make the whole design, binding, font, illustrations...”
Her works are displayed in the collections of: the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy in Moscow; Irbit State Museum of Visual Art; National Ex-libris and Prints Museum, Saint Nicolas, Belgium; Forum Kultur Youth Graphic Foundation, Wrocław, Poland, and private collections.
The master class’s programme:
- Introductory lecture on the peculiar writing of ornate lettering and the half-uncial Cyrillic book hand by the example of a book and a three-dimensional object.
- Demonstration of original and photo copied works by the author.
- Skills building session.
Target audience: adults and children from 12 years old (the level of training is of no importance).

Hours: 2 pm – 4.30 pm
Admission: 300 rubles. Veterans and disabled people – free of charge.
