Master-class on graphology in the walls of the museum

The third working day of the exposition in the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy bore many surprises.

As it is known calligraphy is the art of beautiful writing. But what happens if a professional graphologist sets down to unveil the mysteries of quaint letters? Will the calligraphic handwriting analysis’ results differ from those of usual handwriting analysis of one and the same author? By the way, what practical applications does graphology have these days? Is it science at all?

The answers to all these questions were given during the master-classes, entitled “Calligraphy and Graphology, Ideal in the Real: Together or Apart?” by Inessa Goldberg, a Moscow graphologist, an expert from the School of Graphoanalytics, and by Larisa Drygval, DSc (psychology).

In her clear manner, Larisa described the basics of this type of analysis, and then demonstrated to what one should pay attention when analyzing the swift scribble of a signature we leave a thousand times a day.

Of course, one cannot ascertain that the number of the skeptics saying graphology is not a true science decreased after her master-class. Nevertheless, it is obvious that after this master-class many skeptics were indeed converted into believers.
