Lecture: Selecting an artwork frame. From the 16th century tricks of the trade to contemporary frames

Tuesday, September 5, has seen a very interesting lecture read by Oxana Lysenko, lead framing expert and team member of the State Russian Museum, as a part of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy. Oxana unveiled some tricks of the trade from past centuries and explained the rules of selecting a frame for a painting or a calligraphy piece, using both classic benchmark examples dating back to 16th-19th centuries and the art of contemporary frame makers.
