The exhibition of private museums of Russia featured Avraham Borshevsky’s Star of David parchment, which is currently displayed as a part of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy collection. On Sunday, September 8, the most renowned Israeli expert of sacred and creative calligraphy held a workshop to talk about the idea and the history behind this mesmerizing manuscript. Touching upon the history of writing, Borshevsky revealed a fascinating link between Cyrillic and the ancient Hebrew alphabet, illustrating his story on a blackboard. The new cultural attaché of the Embassy of Israel to Russia, Ms. Yana Kotlyar-Gal, highly appraised the unprecedented exhibition of private museums of Russia, and the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy itself.
