Israeli expert of sacred and creative calligraphy Avraham Borshevsky held workshop at exhibition of private Russian museums

The exhibition of private museums of Russia featured Avraham Borshevsky’s Star of David parchment, which is currently displayed as a part of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy collection. On Sunday, September 8, the most renowned Israeli expert of sacred and creative calligraphy held a workshop to talk about the idea and the history behind this mesmerizing manuscript. Touching upon the history of writing, Borshevsky revealed a fascinating link between Cyrillic and the ancient Hebrew alphabet, illustrating his story on a blackboard. The new cultural attaché of the Embassy of Israel to Russia, Ms. Yana Kotlyar-Gal, highly appraised the unprecedented exhibition of private museums of Russia, and the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy itself.
