A festival named Shelkovye Linii (The Silk Lines) officially opened in Grozny City hotel yesterday to continue between June 30 and July 6.
According to the hotel’s Instagram page, the event features calligraphy artists from various countries, including Turkey, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
One of the most eminent calligraphers, Dr. Phil., and cross-style calligraphy artist Nasser Tavusi (Iran) held a workshop at the festival opening ceremony. He will put on display his unique artworks while also sitting on the festival jury.
The agenda includes a contest part, as well as a trade fair of artworks created by artists and festival participants.
Winners will visit the locations in Chechnya that feature calligraphy murals.
