Doctor of fine arts, professor Vera Belozerova visited the Contemporary museum of calligraphy

On the 7th of August 2019 sinologist, doctor of fine arts Vera Belozerova visited the Contemporary museum of calligraphy and met with the museum director Alexey Shaburov. The field of scientific interests of Vera Belozerova includes the art of China, Korea, Japan and India, the professor wrote several monographs about traditional Chinese art. At the moment Vera Belozerova has been teaching a course "The art of countries of the Orient" at the State University Higher School of Economics and the Russian State University for the Humanities.

Vera Belozerova was very impressed with the museum and expressed regret that she did not get acquainted with its collection before. The exhibits of Jewish and Arabic calligraphy attracted particular attention of the professor. Vera Belozerova also expressed confidence that the tradition of beautiful writing in the countries of Muslim world and in China will never fade because in these countries calligraphy is the part of the cultural code.

Vera Belozerova thanked for the opportunity to visit the museum, and the parties agreed on further cooperation within the project "Great Chinese Calligraphy and Painting", which will be held in Sokolniki park on the 20-22 of September.
