On January 27, 2019, Alexey Shaburov, Director of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, met with a renowned Chinese artist Fang Chuxiong in Guangzhou, as a part of Shaburov's business trip across China. The famous maître welcomed Alexey Shaburov in his residence and introduced the art, while Shaburov himself gave a detailed overview of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy and a unique project, The Great Chinese Calligraphy and Painting exhibition, designed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relationships between Russia and China. The exhibition is scheduled for September 20-22, 2019, in Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre. Mr. Fang was curious to find out about this unique project and expressed his hope that such truly exciting events will contribute to strengthening the cultural bond between our countries.
Calligraphy is a kind of music not for the ears, but for the eyes.
