From October 30 to November 3, the Manezh exhibition hall of the museum-reserve Kazan Kremlin hosted the “Days of Culture of Japan in the Republic of Tatarstan” cultural event.

The opening ceremony of the Culture Without Borders exhibition was attended by Ambassador of Japan to Russia Toyohisa Kozuki, representatives of the museum management, and the invited guests, who delivered their welcome remarks. The visitors enjoyed the dynamic projection show staged by the Japanese group ORIENTARHYTM, exhibition performances of European champions in kendo, a concert given by the Youth Orchestra of the Foundation for the Development of Performing Arts “SFORZANDO”.

The display featured works by Hiroku Kozuki, a Japanese artist and art historian, member of the international group of icon painters. The calligraphy works on display at the exhibition were the real adornment of the hall. Toyohisa Kozuki, who recently celebrated his birthday, was presented with a tughra by Vladimir Popov, People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Vladimir is famous for having created tughras of Japanese figures, including the Emperor and Empress of Japan, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and others.

The symbolic name of the exhibition justified itself: the art of beautiful handwriting won the hearts and minds of everyone.
